Wood Rats. May 26 - 1929, Made trip to mine 4 miles East of Pocatello to gather notes on rats and bats. One rat was seen and collected. Mine A; the specimen was running about in back of tunnel and I knocked him from side wall with a rock. Cat. # 222 - ♂ weight 431 grms. stomach contents wt. 33 grms.; [illegible] Mcs: L. 3 7/5 ; T 14 5/ ; H.F. 45' ; E. 3 2 ; Two smooth newly used nests were noted on the floor of the mine near the point where the sheariner was taken. P.S. The sheariner was shedding badly and seemed to be just loosing the winter felage.
