Wood Rats.
May 26 - 1929,
Made trip to mine 4 miles
East of Pocatello to gather
notes on rats and bats.
One rat was seen and
collected. Mine A; the
specimen was running about in
back of tunnel and I knocked
him from side wall with a
rock.
Cat. # 222 - ♂ weight 431 grms.
stomach contents wt. 33 grms.; [illegible]
Mcs: L. 3 7/5 ; T 14 5/ ; H.F. 45' ; E. 3 2 ;
Two smooth newly used nests
were noted on the floor of the
mine near the point where the
sheariner was taken.
P.S. The sheariner was shedding
badly and seemed to be just
loosing the winter felage.
