Beaver. Barrett's - June 10-11 (continued - Page 4) A slight rise of ground on the creek floor near the back end of the whole pond contained several bank burrows which appeared to be in use. Our third actual beaver observation was made that evening at 7:30 of an individual which swam the entire length of the pond, upstream toward these burrows, and disappeared in some one of them. The colony 1/4 mile below Mr. Barrett's home stead has been annoyed a great deal by irrigation water users. Here there is one big dam and a series of four smaller dams, built downstream below the big old dam. The first of these smaller dams below the big dam appears now to be the chief center of construction. Mr. Barrett reported that during the dry summer of 1931, an irrigation ditch rider had been authorized to destroy the dam to allow water to pass for irrigation.
