tlow Page 1. Lepus 5mmu. Short rabbit. Oct. 21-1932-Schutt's mine, 10 mi. N. E. Pocatello, Bannal Co. 3de, 650ft. On this date Mr. Schutt returned from a trip to his mine and brought me two snowshoe rabbits. He found them taking shelter in a mine tunnel and caught them alive before they could escape. I caged them together and we killed and badly mangled the other, so that only one, # 697 was saved. It was almost entirely white, with a dark patch on the face and some black or gray on the dorsal surface of the back. Mr. Schutt reported them very common in the vicinity of his mine holdings.
