April 13-1929.
Bright sunny day; warm.
10:30 A.M. we reached vicinity
of mine tunnels near Portneuf
Siding to collect wood checks.
Four tunnels were
examined for bats and
three long eared specimens
taken from a single tunnel.

All of these bats lacked any evidence of extra
fat, which was such a notable
feature of those taken in the
early winter.
