March 27, 1929 Portmeir Siding.
Warm, bright sunny day.
made trip to mine tunnels
at Portmeir Siding after
school.
collected as follows.
Cat. No. 21 - ♂ Little Brown Bat.
hanging loosely on ceiling of
tunnel.
Cat. Numbers: 18-♀; 19-♂;
20-♂; Cat. Long eared bats.
all hanging loosely on ceiling.
All four of these specimens
were taken in the same tunnel -
one about 15-0 ft deep.
Two other tunnels were
visited but no evidence of bats
noted.
All these were very old and
stiff and were not seeming to
respond to the mild spring
weather.
