Bats. Feb. 2. 1929. Motive continued and appeared to [illegible] dead for some time. Due to drying, there was no object in attempting to weigh the carcasses of the dead specimens. Weather was very severe during this period, and although [illegible] the cage was placed at a point where most of the specimens were taken off it is possible that they would have moved into the mine deeper, had they been free; so they may have frozen. 20 degrees below zero was recorded during this period. There has been no evidence of insect life, which might be used for food by these bats, in these mine tunnels. Two little Brown Bats were collected on this date. Cat. # 4. Female. one not saved.
