Bats. November 11.- continued. Cat. No. 183. was made 24 hours after being taken; stomach empty; length of intestines 115 m.m.; intestines empty except about 20 m.m. of colon, which contained black, sticky excreta. This specimen was very fat. Cat. No. 185.-♂ Total weight 11.9 grams, weight of carcass 8.7. grams. " " fat. 2.1 " 17.6 % of total weight is fat. Catalogue No. 186. male Total weight 8.8 grams. Fat- weight 1. 11.4 % of total weight in fats. 11. Four of these specimens were caged in a warm laboratory and left alive. Three lived ten days and the last died in 14 days. Metabolism was probably hastened tending to exhaust a residue food supply!
