Field Trip.
May 29-30-1932.
4 miles North East of American Falls.
Sunday P.M. May 29, I drove west on Adm. Falls Highway to a point 4 miles north east of that place, and then left the highway and drove north toward the Ad.Falls reservoir. The flat, sandy sage brush plain which lies between the highway and the reservoir and Potomac River from Pocatello to American Falls, is about 1 1/4 miles wide at this point.
I placed two lots of 20 traps each on small sand bluffs which had blown from an old cultivated field.
About 1/2 mile further, I placed 20 more mouse traps, and 8 rat traps for ground squirrels.
Returned A.M. May 30.
Collected 4 Kangaroo Rats from first set of 20 traps along with five Peromyscus.
Second set of 20 caught nothing.
The last group of sets was within 3 rods of the lake.
