Sept. 12-13 Justice Park. Pocket gophers were noted to be working any where there was small soil areas above the rock slides and on the very top of the mountain itself. Our gopher sets were all on the steep gravelly, sage brush covered mountain side below the area of loose rock. Only two gophers were trapped by 11:30 A.M. when the traps were taken up. We rushed into the mnt. early without collecting the overnight catch and these were gathered at noon Sept. 13 with following results: 23 - Peromyscus - 2 and more. 6 - M. mordax - 4. 5 - Eutamias amoenus- 4. 8 - Gophers - 2 Started home at 3 P.M. This day, Edward Leonard shot a stripped skunk about 2 week prior to this date, September 12, and buried it there. It was taken under a nearby cabin. (over)
