Villalba 1988 Journal of Krato combined was 11♀:2♂. I am not certain whether this reflects a real difference in sex ratio or just a marked difference in trapability. The capture success was about what I expected for the amount of singps we saw. Thus if Fs are less trappable I would assume it is because they are not as active this time of year. Yet I don't know why that would be the case; Cayothamnus is still fruiting, at Walker Pass a few weeks ago 23 of our 43 captures (of known sex) were ♀ (thus almost 1:1). As a result I am content to conclude that this population as a whole is small in number and very strongly male biased. Also of interest is the fact that both females had uterine scars and that no unreproductive females were caught. 20 Oct 6 mi S Granite Well, Providence Mtgs. San Bernardino Co., Calif 3800ft.
