habitat. The mesa is rimmed with loose rocky slopes covered with Pinus monophylla. While the mesa is dominated by Artemisia triden- tata, On the mesa A tridentata is successional as can be seen by the occurrence of successively younger pinyons that have managed to begin growing in from the edges. This growth pattern and distribution of pinyons indicates they are still colonizing the mesa. Because of the vegetation density and changing floristic composition of the mesa I don't think it will support k rats for much over 30 yrs unless this place has a good fire. Got 1 krat on line A, one ~~ line B, one on line C and two on line F (in the canyon). We saw tracks of the wild/feral horse we heard last night. The sex ratio for all captures
