llablanco 1988 Journal there is a good Pinyon pine wood- land. Yet even this area has suitable habitat throughout. By 3 m E (at Walker Pass summit), the Canyon reopens, dominants are great basin sage brush and scattered Tostuos; There are no pinyon. At 9 m E Lavia tridentata is the dominant though this is an ection between Mojave & Great Basin Desert. 30 Sept 3/81.8 Panamint Mountains m NE of Jackass Springs, Into Ca California. Left likely at 0700 for the Panamint mountains, Via the Walker Pass. After going down Freeman Canyon, The dominant plant is creosote bush. After heading up Hwy 395 for about 10-15 miles we covered about 20-25 miles of Black brush scrub (Coleogyne ramossisima). Then at Hwy 190 headed E through a 10 mile section of Saltbrush (Atriplex) scrubs. Then upon turning SE on Hwy 190 we (Kelly Thomas & Svante Paalo) we crossed a small lava field, & then were track into Black
