Dollanco 1988 Journal marker (BLM 1970) 1/4 S6S7, T26S R37E. Line Deeds at S26°50' of A and N33°45' of B. Suitable (D. pav) habitat seems to be plentiful here and for quite some distances. The following is an account of the vegetation around the study site. Mileages are from Hwy 178 and are in relations to the study site. 61 miles SW the canyon is grass on steep slopes @ 1000 ft. 57 miles SW, at 2000 ft. we entered foothill woodland. At 41 miles SW we begin at least locally / partially suitable habitat (near Kern Canyon Rd), Digger Pine, Douglas Oak, Rabbit Brush, and less steep soils. ~~At 35 miles SW the Valley open up wide. This Valley is wide from here through Waller Pass. At 28 m SW Junipers occur on the SW facing slope. There is a large open basin from about 2600-2700 ft; this basin contains Onyx. At 12 m SW have flat, grass w/ Joshua trees and Rabbit Brush. ~~By 10 m SW have Joshua tree woodland, 3000 ft. 2 m E of site
