Line B had 40 traps & caught 7 rats by 2319 hrs. Line A had 39 traps & caught 9 rats by 2340 hrs. Line C had 39 traps & caught 5 rats by 0007 hrs. Those traps that caught rats were removed and not replaced, so that all sites had an equal probability of catching one rat. We chose this strategy since the snap traps used in 1917 were not replaced once they trapped a rat. The traps were checked again at dawn. 30 traps on line A caught
