4) Surprisingly, one individual stopped
in an open area to put seeds
in its pouches after it was
released. It stopped for about
30 seconds & then hopped off. This
was at about 0800.
5) These animals have a very small
ear (for their size), are pale, and
ventral have a tail strips that fades
to white distally.

1) This subspecies is much larger
and heavier than the D. p. mohavensis
subspecies is at Walker Pass.
2) The sex ratio at this site was
11♂:2♀
3) The vegetation is thick overall
with patches of open more
suitable habitat. Joshua trees
are replaced by [illegible], thus this
site is elevationaly and ecologi-
cally higher than walker pass.
Though it also shows that pinyon
pine woodland will not present
dispersal barrier to this
