Villablanca 1992 Santa Ana Mountains & Tracy 28Oct agilis, and 4 Perognathus plus 2 P. mariculus. Trapping at the Santa Ana Mountains was done at 4.7 mi S. & 1 mi E. Terra Cotta, Riverside Co. Calif 27605t; this site is referable to another MVZ site as follows 3.2 mi. from Carrizo Station on Main Divide Rd, Cleveland National Forest. 40 traps were set along a dirt Rd on a ridge. Vegetation is Chamisa, with dear weed, leather oak, and scattered Bromus rubens. Soil has a desert pavement finish, and like the desert, soft fine silty soil is found when the crust is cracked. 29Oct At 4.7 mi S. & 1 mi E. Terra Cotta captured 9 Dipodomys agilis and 3 Peromyscus trueii 12.5 mi S. and ½ mi E Tracy, San Joaquin Co. Calif. 1200-1500 ft. Set 44 traps along the ridge tops between the Lone Tree and Hospital draina- ges. The area is an annual grass- land. Grasses less than 1 ft tall. Trail systems (runways) visible around K-rat burrows. 30Oct Caught 35 Dipodomys in 44 traps.
