way under shrubs. At Banning Ridge
top, not slope) caught 2 Dipodomys
(agilis or simulans)-not sure since
am hoping to find contact zone
between these 2 species and their
2 karyotypic forms), 6 Perognathus,
7 Peromyscus maniculatus and 1 P.
truei. At ~~ Badlands site caught:
3 Dipodomys (agilis or simulans), 3
Peromyscus maniculatus, 3 P. truei,
1 Neotoma fuscipes, and 7 Chaetodipus.
The Cajon line in the wash produced
7 Chaetodipus, 1 P. maniculatus and
4 N. fuscipes. The latter had small
houses (more like burrows) under
small leafless tail cactus. The line
on the mesa above the wash caught
4 Peromyscus manicul., 4 Perognathus
and 1 N. fuscipes. No K-rats. I moved
the traps about 1/4 mile NW to an
area just N. of the wash, next to
the Road, and just S. of a KOA camp.
Site is 0.8 mile E. Denoso, San Bern. Gs,
2040 ft. Here the vegetation is coastal
sage, with Calif sage, deer weed &
Eriogonum
