Villahome 1992 Banning, Badlands 26 Oct Road west. Vegetation is Acacia gregii, Stipa sp., Croton s filare. Catclaws scattered & has a low % cover. Calgon Peabio steep & rugged suggesting recent uneguilibrated uplift. At Banning resort 40 traps along ridge at top of 8th St. 1.5 mi N. & 0.5 mi. West, Banning, Riverside Co. 2800ft. Vegetation on this switch back is Chamiss and black sage. Area most of burned 2-4 yrs ago; stumps remain. Badlands: 0.9 mi. E. & 2.0 miles N. Eden Hot Springs, Riverside Co., Calif. 2280ft. Set 40 traps along level ridge to next to road. Fins sandy silt (of Lake Cotton type I would guess). Vegetation is black sage, Calif. sage, brittle brush (Encelia farinosa), russle russian thistle, and mustard. 27 Oct Captures at Calgon was 6 Dipodo- mup simularo, 14 Peromyscus maniacus - latus, 1 Chaetodipus & 1 Perognathus.
