Villablanca 1992 Beaumont 23 Oct and chaparral yucca, some juniper on open ridge tops, and great lason sage & rabbit brush with Eriogonum in the canyon bottom. Similar to Dipo habitat in Santa Monica Mtns, and also at Hwy 33 N. of Ojai. Stopped on Hwy 138 about 1.5-2 miles from (S.of) Hwy 15. Lots of lurrars in a Arctostaphylos, Adenostoma, yerba santa community. 25 Oct 3.2 mi. N. & 0.5 mi. SW Beaumont (just NW of Little San Gorgonio Creek), Riverside Co., Calif at 2880 ft set out 40 traps (head of Bellflower Avenue). Site is hilly area of deep ravines and gullies, set 4 lines of 5 stations (2 traps each) across the face & top of a West facing slope. Soil is a sandy loam, sedimentary probably from granite. The vegetation is thick and old Adenostoma, eriogonum, Q. turbinella and Q. crisophus. This hill side is just above a alluvial fan across the san gorgonio pass and is just south of the N-S divide of the pass. Dan
