Villablanca 1992 21 Oct En route from Berkeley to Phelan. Hwy 5, 1 mile N of Kammer Ave, Fresno Co. looked @ burrows right next to road. Rolling hills w/ scattered shrubs & dry grasses. Probably Dipodomys heermanni tularensis judging by the size. Agave Dulce (LA Co.) is probable D. agilis agilis habitat: coastal scrub with some juniper & saltbush brush. Steep rocky ridge just to east @ 2000 ft. Escondido is similar except with more of a juniper woodland (3000 ft). By Acton looks like D. a. perplexus habitat. At Hwy 14 + Santiago Rd have juniper woodland + some Creoste bush. The intersection of Sierra Hwy & Pear Blossom Hwy has the Joshua tree / Juniper woodland look similar to the base of the Panamint mountains coming from Kolar. Hwy 138 @ 30th St is ecotone Juniper woodland / Mojave desert. At 138 & Chesselbrow Rd have Joshua tree woodland w/ some harrea. From Little Rock to Hwy 18 is joshua trees : woodland w/ scattered harrea. The
