Transcription
When Hwy 58 crests it is a Blue oak and Pine woodland w/ some chaparral on shallow soil of steeper slopes. These upper elvers, flats (~2mi. W. of 202hwy) are Blue oak with Digger pine, Juniper & scrub oak. From Tahachapi to Monolith is grassland with outcrops and some scrub oak (4000ft). Past Monolith get grass land or juniper & scrub on slopes. By Sandy Canyon Road have desert scrub with scattered junipers. About 8-12 mi. before Mojave get Joshua trees, crescote, juniper and atriplex where begin descent into desert. Few Joshua trees belows 300 ft, then start again in bottom lands. The last 15-20 miles to Barstow is mostly Atriplex with crescents restricted to deeper soil or at edge of foothills. East of Barstow to Nello Rd. have rolling hills and a flood plain with crescents. This is a paved Rd and looks good for trapping, believed for Daggett. Hwy 40 cuts across
