Villablanca 1991 Journal 7 April 1.2 mi. S. Chalk Peak, Monterey Co., Calif 3250 About 5 miles by road (on Coast Trail) from Narimiento - Ferguson Rd. The Coast Trail is a dirt Road (except as it skirts along chalk peak were it is paved) that leads to a fork. This fork is at Plackett Ridge Rd (heads S.E.) and Prewitt Ridge Rd (heads W.). About 50 yds north of the fork (before you come to it) is a dirt drive that heads East. Following this drive east, and then taking the SEast fork (other forks in this drive heads N.E.) you come to a wide (E.W.) southfacing slope. The hills surrounding this slope are vegetated with Coulter pine, ceanothus, manzanita, MadroƱo Eryodictyon + chapparal pea, Quercus agrifolia. The soil is a course colbled sandstone. Beyond the immediate hills (peaks and along Prewitt & Plackett creek ridge roads), the y vegetation is P. ponderosa, Quercus agrifolia, Q. lobot, Q. wizlosonii & Q. chrysolopus, plus
