this fan. There were quite a few
of them. We checked the traps
hoping to capture 20-25 Dipodomys
panamintinus caudatus for compa-
risons of their mitochondrial
DNA to that from specimens captured
here in 1937 by Arrey, Taler, Johnson
and Marshall. To our surprise
there were 21 D.p.c. caught and 70
Dipodomys merriami. The location
of capture for D.p.c. are in the
catalog. In addition: line A
captured 16 D. merriami, line B
captured 1 Nectoma lepida, 1
Peromyscus (74-95-90-70=18g) and 15
D. merriami, line C captured 1
N. cineira, 1 Peromyscus, and one
Ammospermophilus and 16 D. merriami;
line D captured 1 Nectoma, and
14 D. merriani, line E captured
1 peromyscus and 1 Ammospermophilus.
Measurements for 4 D. merriame are
as follows: 94-140-36-13=32g; 96-143-
36-13=37g; 92-147-35-13=39g; 95-156-
35-12=40g. All had 4 toes and a
tail crest that extended the
distal 1/2 of the tail. Station Cb
