Thacker 1960 Thomasys talpoides Apr. 12 7.5 mi N, 6.1 mi E. Litchfield, 4430+ ft. Lassen Co. Calif. Yesterday we set several traps along US 395 in this area. This afternoon we checked them and had one gopher here. All our sets here were right along the highway up where it crosses a wide level "moat flow". There is virtually no vegetation on the flat or either side of the road, and but little along the raised embankment of the road. It was here that on the highway embankment that all our sets were placed. CST 894 Apr. 16 Datter Ranch, 1.3 mi N. 0.4 mi W Loyaltan 4710+ ft. Sierra Co. Calif.
