Species Account.
Thermomys bottae (p4, 4)
Oct. 4 (cont.) There were scattered pines in the area. One T. monticola
was also taken nearby (3.5 mi. N., 1.9 mi. E Calpine, 4910 +/- ft.
Plumas Co., Calif). The T. bottae was taken on a gentle
(southside)
slope of a valley that runs east into the Sierra Valley.
The T. monticola was taken along the dry wash at
the bottom of this valley. Here the vegetation was
similar but the soil was very gravelly.
