Thacker 1958 Species account Myotis californicus July 14 Aguas Calientes Hot Sp., 1400+ ft., San Diego Co., Calif. We netted bats over some small pools here. (see sp. acc. for Vampyrellus hesperus) I took one of these but released it after Beck banded it. July 15 We again netted bats over those same pools. I took two of them (563, 572). Although I'm not positive I think these two were taken only after the "pips" had been flying for sometime. July 15 Vallecito Stage Station, 1500+ ft., San Diego Co., Calif. While checking the stage station for night-roosting bats a number of these were collected (561-576). These were prepared later from frozen material. A total of eight were taken as follows: 9:30-11 (2 both males), 11-midnight 4, midnight to 12:30 one (actually on July 16.); 12:30-1 one. The other two were released.
