Hessler 1956 Journal Pg. 18 June 23 (w/8) Crystal Lake Hatchery to Berkeley via McCloud, Leslieyau & Calif had raised this stream's level so we decided not to go further. We then started back toward Rt. 89 looking for gopher signs. At several places we found old signs and finally at a point 8.5 mi. E, 2.9 mi. N McCloud, 3750+ ft., Leslieyan Co, Calif. we found some recent gopher signs. I set about 7 sets. We waited for about two hours until 9:30 PM. By this time I had one gopher in my traps. We then pulled over traps and started home. Stopped for supper in Dunsmire, coffee and gas in Williams arriving in Berkeley at about 5:30 AM June 24.
