Mt. Shasta, Siskiyou Co., Calif.
singles were set across (east side) of the road,
Pine Grove Drive, from those set last evening.
Then we went south about 1/4 mi., down
a rather sharp slope and I set 5 doubles
and one single in this field. It was planted
with alfalfa & much grass and clover. Ray

On the way out we stopped at by the Hoyt house
and took a single young male gopher.
During the afternoon I skinned. We ate
a quick meal in town and checked the traps
at the Hoyt Ranch. Those Ray and I had set
on the higher field (mentioned first above) yielded
ten gophers, one had been caught before we
left in the morning. The lower field yielded four
& 2 out of six sets. On the way out we checked
the other set by the Hoyt house and took one &.

Skenny. After supper we returned to Hoyt's. We stopped
to talk with the doctor and his wife. They told us that
owned by

they had cleared most of the present fields themselves. I had three
gophers in traps this evening. Had a thunderstorm this evening & but light rain
