Shasta 1958 Journal page 9. Mt. Shasta, Siskiyou Co., Calif. (June 12 cont) were set singly the rest in double sets. After setting the traps which took the remainder of the day we went to town for groceries and dinner. After dinner I checked traps and put up specimens, I had 3 gophers June 13. Up at 5:45 A.M., had breakfast in Town and started checking traps at about 7. I got only 3 out of the some 20 sets. We then spent the remainder of day putting up skins after playing to an audience of both adults and children. Stopped at about 4 to check traps again, since we already have twenty-six skins of gophers we did not reset traps in which gophers were taken. After dinner & put up some more skins. at 7:55 noted a bat flying near the shed since it was still light he merely sought another roost. It appeared to be a large Myotis. Today we were told by Mr. Hill that Joe Lombardi is quite impressed by the large yield of our trapping method for gophers in this field. June 14. Removed all our gopher traps from the Lombardi Ranch this A.M. The total "catch" for the 3 days was 56. Then spent the remainder of the morning skinning. After lunch we went to town for groceries and other items. Then went to the ranch of a Mr. Ferrero N1/2 of town. (1/2 mi. N Mt. Shasta P.O., T40N R4W sec 9, ele. 3600 +/- ft.) We had been
