Stong 1921 Hazelton, B.C. Alt. 950 ft. 55. In June 3, 1921.- Hot and overcast. Went out Wease alias "Push-of-the-hill", fable with Mr. Suerth. No luck? thens, only saw the fern, two Golden Eyes, and a pair of Sparrow-Hawks. Found one Song Sparrows nest with called newly-hatched young. Heard Night Hawk? today turns. Also saw Western Tanagers, Canadian- Nuthatch, and secured a beautiful pair of Magnolia Warblers, beautiful little birds. Got two snakes and Mice a frog. So far we have gotten White-footed Mice - Permy. cous. (Long) Steller's jumping Mouse - Zapus, Red-Backset Mouse - Engtump? - and a couple of small gray Shrews - Sours. No voles - microlas yet. The Piledated Warblers have vanished, and the Magnolia Warblers have taken their place. Secured a Red-Crested Sparrowlee, of which there are great numbers and a Golden-Curued Kniglet. Sule several bunches of nuts and twigs in the Spruce trees which appeared to be Red-Squirrel nests. Found a Weas building her nest. Mosquitos bad! ~~~ 110. & Steller Jay, 112.6 qms - cares very small.
