Weck. Sept. 14. Good weather continues, but is too warm to last
on ahead. Went down to the river, saw Mallards,
Teal and Murcycense but got no good shots. A flock
of four Ripato lit on the beach where they sat
evidently resting, secured two. Came back thru the
fields, saw several Yellow Throats, two finchyn
finches, several Song Sparrows, and one Sparuw-
Hawk. Along the willows were many Myrthl
Warbler, J Pulins, and Heblers; the latter being
all females from what I could see. There was
a few flocks of Junco's. Slate-colored and
Black-headed both. Saw nothing else. This
evening I went down to the river and saw
some coyote and other trvels on the far but
nothing else. There were many cars trotting
around the chicken house but it was too
dull to see them.
Thurs. Sept. 15.— Very cloudy today. Novel walk to
