RUSTOWN Townsend's Solitaria
1.
Museum of Vertebrate Zoology, Berkeley, Alameda Co., Calif.
April 14, 1942
This afternoon I went to the home
of Mr. Andrew S. Gibb, 2609 Shasta Rd., Berkeley
to see his guillemot movies and he was
able to show me two Solitaries in his
garden. I saw one very well and am
sure of the identification. They gave a
single rather rich call note & I watched
them drink at the bird bath and
eat Cypocantha berries. According
to Mr. Gibb, the birds have been in
this canyon for five or six weeks.
