1942 Sceloporus microlepidotus
Museum of Vertebrate Zoology, Berkeley, Alameda Co., Calif.
February 11, 1942
A series of this species from around Mexico City and another from the slopes of Mt. Popocatepetl are very different in appearance although Hobart Smith includes both in the same race. The lizards from the valley of Mexico are larger and have their markings all but obliterated. Those from the mountain are very clearly marked and smaller. It would be advisable to study the sautellation and other characters to see if the two are actually different forms.
