April 28 Point Lobos, Monterey Co., California
Arrived at park about 9:15 AM going straight to observation point at N end of East Grove. Rain at start but cleared about 10. Fairly strong W wind blowing but sun warm, surf higher than yesterday. Watched guillemots, joined by Saidlaw Williams about noon and left park about 1 PM after stopping in the pine woods near the road south of East grove.
Birds seen in the park during this time were besides those seen yesterday, Green-backed and Lawrence's Goldfinches (the last seen and heard very well), Wm. Bluebird, Cal. Flycatcher, House Wren, Pigmy Nut-hatch, Hutton Vireo, Red-sh. Flycatcher, Tree Swallow White-tmr. Swift, Violet-green Swallow, Pied-billed Warbler, Turkey Vulture, Red-t. Hawk, and Brown Creeper. Also saw gray squirrel. Between Point Lobos Park and Carmel we saw Bimnet,
Barn, Tree and Rough-winged Swallows, Great Blue Heron, Sorn sp?, and Killdeer.

The following were seen around the Williams' home (cor. Anid Ave & Montebello): Golden G. Sparrow, Wm. Flycatcher, Olive-S. Flycatcher, Junco (2 woods out mountainely of the nest), Band-t. Pigeon (came to feeding tray by window.), Cal. Thrail, Bewick's Wren, Chestnut-b. Chickadee (nest 7 young just hatched in bird box), & Gray Squirrel.
Left for Berkeley on 7:35 PM Bus from Monterey.
