There were several things of interest around the home of Mr. Mrs. T.O. Williams.
Chestnut-b. (clinker) were building in a box in the front yard. The nest seemed about completed but no eggs were laid. The ♀ roosted in the box on the 8th. A pair of junco's were building a nest under the eves of the garage and built most of the outer part of the nest during the two days I was present. Nearby was the nest of a Western Flycatcher and also one of a Brown Creeper (both those of earlier last year.) The creepers nest was in a crevice in the wall of the house which is covered with split redwood logs.
Several Band-tailed Pigeons were seen to light in the yard and take food from the small pen in which a pair of Muscovy ducks were kept. A flock of Golden-crowned Sparrows was usually around the yard and often came to a feeding station outside the window. As the house is in the pine woods, there are no White-crown Sparrows.
