Restores 1941 Journal July 27 Pie de la Cuesta to 25 miles S of Chilpancingo, Guerrero. Mexican Jacana, Hutt. killed (?) Tern, rull (sp?) Vivaceous ground Dove, *Inca Dove, White-winged Dove, groove-bill Ani, night-hawks, Ringed Kingfisher, Spotted Sand piper, (western?) Sand piper, ivory-killed Pileated Woodpecker, Golden-cheeked woodpecker, Derby Flycatcher, Gould's Kingbird, *Acapulco Jay, Bullock magpie Jay, *Sclater's Cactus Wren (H. similis), Red-wing, Boat-tail Thrashle, *Volatinia. Drove to pines 25 miles S of Chilpancingo where we spent the night. On the way we saw a hawk #a Zual upon which we took notes. July 28 25 mi. S. Chilpancingo to 9 mi. N Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico. In the A.M., C.G.S. added Green Jay, Basileuterus pulvisor & Lepidocolaptes affinis to the list of birds seen around camp. Left in time to reach Chilpancingo about noon where we again called on Mr & Mrs W.W. Brown. Left in the P.M. & drove to a point about 9 mi. North of Cuernavaca where we spent the night in the pine forest at an elevation of about 8500' July 29 9mi N Cuernavaca to 50 miles E of Puebla, Puebla, Mexico Birds seen around camp in the morning included: Mexican Goldfinch, Red Crossbill, Plagiospiya, Eastern Bluebird, Myiochanes perterina, Myioborus miniatus, Basileuterus sp? Mexican Junco. Drove into Mexico arriving about 11 AM & stayed until about 3 PM, & drove to 50 miles E of Puebla (204 KM from Mexico)
