Set 40 large Sherman here, 20 in closed campground with boulders + shrubs; 20 on hillside with sage, grass, pines. 0.8 mi. E of Miracle Hot Springs ~2400' elev., Kern Co. Calif. Set 20 large and ~ 27 small Shermans in canyon and on hillside with large boulders, sagbrush, live oaks, and Buckeyes. 1.4 mi. W of Miracle Hot Springs ~2400', Kern Co., Calif Set 40 large Shermans in a canyon with Buckeye, Live Oaks, + Poison Oak. 3.7 mi. W of Miracle Hot Springs, ~2400, Kern Co., Calif. Set 30 small folding Shermans in a canyon with rocks, oaks, + pines. John Cadle turned rocks and logs in most of these areas, and got a Ring-necked Snake Most of the areas seem a bit too dry for amphibians. It was windy at Hobo Gg'd. so we drove back down to Upper Dickbar Campground for the night. Got to bed earlier for a change - 8:30pm.
