M.F. Smith 1977 JOURNAL Hastings Reservation, Monterey Co., Calif. Mar. 18 Left Berkeley at 9:15 am to drive to Hastings. Mileage 37210. Florence Amano is planning to drive down tomorrow. Got to Hastings at ~12:30 pm. Delivered tires & other, Set 1-20 along dry creek in Madrone Canyon 21-40 in oaks on moist hillside 81-100 in grassland lower near creek 101-120 in grassland upper 41-60 in chaparral on Watertank Hill by Red House 61-80 on Watertank behind Davis' house Set 41-60 nonfolding Shermans at Finch Creek west end and down hill & along creek in rocks. 61-80 nonfolding Shermans at Finch Creek east end and along creeks. Set 121-140 folding Shermans around lab buildings, unsafe barn, & bunkhouse. Finished at ~5:30 pm and worked in lab until ~7:30 pm when I made dinner. Steve Dobson is staying in the Bunkhouse; he is working on Ground Squirrels. Graduated from UC Berkeley in 1975. Working on Masters under Sally Holbrook at UC Santa Barbara.
