JOURNAL
Hogland Field Station, Mendocino Co., Calif.
July 5 on July 5 we did vegetation analysis of Chaparal in Orchard Pasture and Rock Pile. Trapping success seems to be high. I had expected that the dry spring might have affected the mice, but they are fairly abundant, except perhaps in the chaparal. Noticed more reptiles out this trip - possibly because of recent exposure in 107. Western Whistails (3) in Chaparal, Sceloporus all over, a shrike, Eumeces shiltonianus, in the Rock Pile on July 4, and then the Kingsnake in the trap in the Chaparal on July 5.
July 6 Went out at 5:50 am to check traps and bring them in.
