9 June Barrow, Alaska
Another display on top the ridge -
and I am standing - it clear seen
between it & the foot -
Cintra fly - sssst note - we
wind gliding giving its song -
Recurring pursuit.
On 10th - we were about 300
yds north - near fresh hole - & I
was flying across to look for
the SW corner of the hole (close to a
pile of boulders). This species is more
common now than I have seen it in
6 years.
The specimen collected on the 7th -
was a [illegible] - very fat all over body -
including lower cervical region - However,
nothing special was noted - no blood
vessels to the subcutaneous region were observed
The foot plate was the same texture as that of
other parts of the body. One feature -
now that some of the fat on the mid-lower
Scraper-off - The flesh tracks were quite
noticeable - in these areas a cross-wise
of small ridges [illegible] ; found in an I'm alone
the flat skin. This same kind is found in DS
at this season, but I am not sure about
other species. This may be common to all ?
