ATI 1964 C. melanotos 7. 18 Jun Barrow, Alaska Also, some the hooting today was high-pitched & not as "hollow" as some - indicate there you are settling & doing some displaying. 19 Jun Flute / 11:00 - all cpr young - a B.R. - Bounding at which I had flushed from nest. Both group 14:00, +176 sec later. - 4 + nut 14eps in one South Fork Area - eggs collected for weights. 20 Jun Flute / 34,3 - N.B.R. 8:00 still dense- but chasing is becoming less frequent. 8:00 chasing on beach ridge. Several ?F-in Dishkachin display - but nests were not located. 21 Jun Flute / 4:00 - including 2 well-developed "mature" ones along north beach ridge. Also, 1 male chasing ? at ~200' "elevation" + gave 6-8 hoots while at this altitude during the chase. 22 Jun Hooting increasing - over 119, 8, 6, 6, 13 - along No.2.R. - plus several "young" or scouting along the ridge. Flute 1 25+ on Pitelka's Plot. 23 Jun - ? gave ground courtship to ?WR - follower in second saw with tail up - given lek note. ? Activity unevenment - good - much chasing & displaying.
