Holmes 1963 66. C. melanotos 6 Aug Banov, Alaska 1 dm 8th r upland fundu, mink/ Fortyout lola, 3 dm flees are Census plot. Ni others seen today -1 track b r for Dersanil. Nest #47 - had 2 dead chicks (hatching size) + legg which had pipped but had not hatched. Since there had been 4 eggs - perhaps 1 chick had hatched early & left with it (last egg shells I had, had egg were all gone - It had been carried away by adult?) - or perhaps rain & cold got to the chick while the parent was off feeding ?? At nest #44 - There were 3 eggs - all cold - The embryos were within 3.5 day! hatching. Perhaps it was predated - maybe she stayed away for the next 10 hrs during feeding & the embryos died - ?! - 7 Aug 10-12 8% - one flock along main magny (central marsh). Also several unmatures, in the same area. 19 t non- flyng chick were collected sout 1M prognethic station. 8 Aug. Camp - B.R. - Guelen Ridge - no shorebirds seen So Jordan -> Flint plots - 2 I.P.S, 3 lone I.P.S, 3 I.P.S. On return trip: 5 actors Single & Snail Snipe - all 1M. Identified even & dm.
