29 July Barrow, Alaska
It appears that many (The screejew have
left) perhaps that many of my chicks
have not survived - since very few are
seen - as compared to what would be
expected with the nesting density which
was present this year.
4 Aug. 17 + 2 downy chicks encountered a grassy
slope - NAM 1 insect plot (9+1 T. coll.). 1 had S
Sen feeding near pool at. Neatun
Sen - trans through Valance - not
floured trip via Britton's Area.
5 Aug. 27 - each with 1 downy jiv. chil
collected south Wolkchog. - no other chicks
were present in either situation - area was
checked thoroughly. Only 2 other Grows seen-
today (her) was at S.C.M. + [illegible] had
hood & brooms - but Arthur was not found.
