Holmes, N 1963 E. melanotos 44. 5 July Barrow, Alaska not been able to get to the eggs - because of snow layer. No fledg. noted - nests on 3+480 chasing 94. No other males seen at the plot level or above - no displaying of any kind. In afternoon - no birds seen in Britton-Voth Area - 18 with 3 young - which were just out of the Nest - 2 young were collected. One bird banded. A nest with eggs done & in Voth area - paper - Simon in grass - giving egg - 76% core - on small mound - nest lay - high center polygons North-945 noted - no other females. Chicks & adults reported Small gray (3-5) 1028 pictures new galea Nobs - Per Shot 5 + 18+18 which were feeding together. 6 July Nest #6 Smashed by caravel - eggs were not yet hatching - about half-3/4 developed. Several 94 seen - there were not chased by anyone. In the same area - 3 group 1028 - 17, 11, 1173 - which were feeding. Whiteflank they flew up & moved off together - No display or chasing. Nest was seen. Nest #7 - was infertile -
