Holmes, R. 1965 42. E. melanoste 3 July Banny, Alaska made a dundig - Not beds been fuding about 10 yds apart. Ps. n #14 - Nw 17.3 - a moss-covered polygon - with scattered grass ridge - 4 egg were 16% cover - no distr disp by incubating $. Ps. N #15 - Nw 18.4 - mossy more run south grass clump - given 109. Court egg - No d. displ. - but did perform a rodent run. A $ in Ne area did a hooting display over Ne $. Ps. N #16 - Nw 21.1 - 4 eggs + inc. $ - no dd. - in small mound in trough between 2 large grass-covered polygons - 20% cover. On return trip - checked nest #2 - which was empty with no evidence of $ - eggs - by herbing dish - No nest couldn't have hatched yet - so it may have been lost to predation. The nest clump was full/ wellus lars - mouth/ Salix palchre - but a few of S. rotundifolia. The bottom the cup was emptied - Necroses pul (Lears 2" high + 3" in diameter) +1 feather - no grass blocks. At nest #9 - The $ ate a cluch.
