RTA 1963 E. melanotos 39. 1 July Barrow, Alaska This season. One or more De & flew short distance (10't) during which I'm fairly sure the coloration - De or would follow closely in a few minutes The jabor. After 2-3 min, De & flew off to chase a gull 1433. It did not return during my stay. Several flown 75' north - 114 1/3, 1411 - & over 3-5. De (with some smalls) along the beach Bird only - Not in much of a rush 2 July Small group 3-4 - along coast from my - until noon - also Ostelher's plot. Display activity (except 1 day - 8-8 - with jabor) - in recent area. Display activity is slowly decreasing. One nest with eggs found 20 yrs north probably - in line with Brown's warming. 3 July Kruvavik - Display activity was further reduced today + some of the previous defenders 78 have now left. Only 7 active 78 (X a corner sheet) were claiming aerial displays - Whereas a week ago there were almost 3 x this number.
