28 june Barrat Alaska
Som chasing was noted within Dr. Folds;
One immature chasing 1/18th Dr. Folds -
usually one bird giving Dr. jobber
note.
In afternoon - only 3 hooting duple
were heard near the vacant plots -
all 3 true seems to be given by one
♂. Once after a chase, a ♂ just
flew both over his territory, 5' over the
ground - but did not display.
Finally he landed without ever
displaying - Our type activity is now
on the decrease.
29 june - Census plot. Activity was noticeably reduced today.
Many of the ♂♂ no longer showed their aggressive
nature, few were sitting in sentinel postures or mounts; a few yet performed an aerial
hooting display. When Dr. Folds was given
it was always directed to a ♀ on the
ground - ie the ♂ flew a foot or two above
her giving her a whistling sound. The only
other calls heard from ♂♂ were ground grounding

At the end of a chase, the aggressor would
return and later begin feeding. No display
at this point - when there former were no one
