25 June Trip to Shroaik: Small groups 1, 2, 3, or 4 800
See along grassy well road, north 1 footpring
+ 1 group / 3 in. Footprints. Along the
stream emptying into the northwest
corner - Shroaik Lake - there was a
flock / 14 800 ( + 1 [illegible] scol.).
One flock / 15 800 on the plot - no other
groups seen - There was no chaos
in the census plot due to flooding birds - as
reported by Biffelle for kest relips.
All these moles today appeared to be
first year birds.
Call note is variable - but as a
"musical" note, liquid in quality - can be heard
as a chip, chee - a choop or chink.
A ground was forced to move
repeatedly (10x+). After 2 min. he became
very diligent at defying, I would stand
