Holmes, R. 1960 Erolia fuscicollis 2 July Qkroavike, Alaska in alpina, in that during courtship the 8 often class the 9 for great distances. In fuscicollis where these birds are frequently seen, it seems possible that there may be a sibling 1 & 4, so that other males are after the 9 that is being courted. This is also confirmed, apparently, at the beach & gas line ridges (see Dikbhai Field Notes). The pony-gee call when it is heard in chorus may be given only for the 9. I have not been able to determine yet, if this is given toward other 8's. It is heard during classes, but here again the lack of visible sexual dimorphism prevents obtaining information on this point. Sometimes an aerial display associated with a "zeree, pony zee..." - instead zree.... Once in the late afternoon The pair (#1) was seen together. The 8 was in his ground display position. Following before the 9. Suddenly he tried to mount her, but she
