Nest wit 4 eggs 2vic. & nest stole S.D
Shwovel - a deep depression one edge
1 large polygon with grass blade for a
lining. Not surrounded by moss riche-
Tuft 1 grass - the letters provided about
46% cover for the eggs. The female
off when I was 60' away I gave no
disturbing display. Also when she
returned when I was at the nest -
she did dec. modest run & "head"
meaway.
Earlier before the nest was discovered,
a D flew over her during a hooting
display. As he did so, she tilted her
body forward, with folded wing
Tips pointing at a 40° angle. The D
swooped lows but kept on going - I landed
about 60' away. The female straightened up-
but kept tail cocked for several seconds
before resuming normal feeding
posture. This may be a submissive
type postur - ie indicating that she already
has a full clutch (egg - etc)
an aggressive posture (who - aggressive
forward - D is not known.
Second Nest found on plot - with 4 eggs
line 1 - no clutch display. Data below,
